Moderator John Luther declared the polls open at 10:00 a.m. for the elections of the Town and School officials and warrant articles. Absentee ballots were cast starting at 5:15 p.m.

ARTICLE ONE
: To vote by non-partisan ballot for the following Town Officers:

The results of ballots cast (359 ballots cast-16 of which were absentee ballots) is as follows:

Recount for Selectmen and Budget Committee on March 17 th at 4:00 p.m. Results for Selectmen remain unchanged. Results for Linda changed to 174. Craig and Rob remained unchanged.


ARTICLE TWO
: To see if the Town will vote to adopt the Amendment to the Acworth Zoning Ordinance (concerning mobile homes) as proposed by the Planning Board. Copies of the complete amendment are available for review at the Town Office, and will be available the day of voting. The following question will appear on the Official Ballot:

"Are you in favor of the amendment to the existing Town of Acworth Zoning Ordinance as proposed by the Planning Board? The amendment clarifies that mobile homes are permitted in the Rural District to exactly the same extent as other types of homes, but that mobile home parks, designed for two or more mobile homes, are prohibited in all zoning districts. It also revises the definition of ‘mobile home’ so as to be consistent with state law."

ARTICLE TWO PASSED


Moderator John Luther called the business meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 at the Acworth Town Hall. John announced that the polls would be open after the meeting for those that still had not voted. He then asked all to stand and join him in the pledge of allegiance. John Luther went over rules of how the meeting would be conducted. His expectations were that people would be respectful to one another. He announced that he received a petition requesting that all articles that had to do with money be voted on by secret ballot. He then began by reading the warrant.


ARTICLE THREE
: To see if the Town will accept the minutes of the Town Meeting of March 10, 2009.

Article three moved by Ralph Balla. Seconded by Art Dion.
With no discussion, article three was moved to vote by voice vote.

ARTICLE THREE PASSED UNANIMOUSLY


ARTICLE FOUR: To see if the Town will empower the Selectmen to serve as pound keepers, measurers of wood and fence viewers.

Article four moved by David Bascom. Seconded by Jim Brown.
With no discussion, article four was moved to vote by voice vote.

ARTICLE FOUR PASSED

ARTICLE FIVE: To see if the Town will authorize the Selectmen to borrow money in anticipation of taxes.

Article five moved by Scott Luther-Houghton. Seconded by Ken Grant.
With no discussion, article five was moved to vote by voice vote.

ARTICLE FIVE PASSED UNANIMOUSLY

ARTICLE SIX
: To see if the Town will vote to confirm the authority of the Board of Selectmen to set or amend fees for any license or permit program already established in the Town, or for the use or occupancy of any previously-established public services or facilities. Prior to setting or amending fees, a public hearing with 7-days’ notice shall be held as required under RSA 41:9-a.

Article six moved by Rob Devalk. Seconded by Claudia Istel.
Joe Martin wanted clarification of this article.
After a brief discussion, article six was moved to vote by voice vote.
