DONKEY AND MULE SHOW
*
There was plenty of ass kissing at the first ever Save Your Ass Long Ear Rescue Benefit Donkey and Mule Show which was held on the Millot Green in Alstead on September 20. Contestants who participated in the show brought their donkeys and mules from as far away as Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York. Ann Firestone, resident of South Acworth and President of SYA Long Ear Rescue, said that she was very pleased with the turn-out to the show. Because this was the first event of its kind sponsored by SYA she didn’t know what to expect. Slideshow of SYA Benefit Donkey & Mule Show At one point over 150 spectators were counted in the crowd. Among other events the show included a costume parade, obstacle course, jumping, and cart-pulling. Another amusing attraction was a Kiss-My-Ass booth. For one dollar event-goers were able to nuzzle the fuzzy muzzle of Sweet Louise, a gentle jenny that belongs to Ann Firestone. "A huge thanks to our wonderful animal-loving, rescue-supporting community," said Ann. "I feel very fortunate to live where I do, where shows like this are supported. Every person had a smile on their face. There were no meltdowns of any kind, human or ass! I think everyone had a great time. Our goal was for the show to be fun and educational. I feel that we met our goal." By Gretchen Abendschein Costume parade ~ Click to enlarge Sweet Louise in the Kiss-My-Ass booth ~ Click to enlarge
